UK brand search · Week 43, 2026

19–25 Oct 2026: what Google UK showed.

Worked out on 26 October 2026, once the week was over, and kept as it was: this page doesn't change as the searches under it age out. Stores and counts only; no advertiser is named.

A search counts when Google answered it. Showed another advertiser means at least one ad on the page came from someone other than the store: a voucher site, a cashback site, another retailer, or an ad showing the store's own address that Google says someone else paid for.

That isn't a problem in itself. Many programmes allow some of it, and some stores never bid on their own name. What brand bidding is, and why searches for a store's name matter.

We file an advertiser by the site its ad shows, the same way the stores' pages do, and count every ad on every search. A voucher or cashback site on a store's name is usually an affiliate, paid when a sale is credited to it.

How a sale gets credited explains why that matters, and voucher site and PPC affiliate say what each is.

We rank only the stores on our schedule with at least 6 searches that week, so a store someone checked once isn't singled out. An advertiser counts once per store, however many of its searches it showed on, exactly as the store's own page counts it.

Others showing while the store's own ad isn't seen is when whether to bid on your own brand is worth asking. Who is bidding on your brand shows how to find out who they are.

Office hours are 09:00 to 18:00 London time, Monday to Friday. An advertiser counts here when it showed at least twice out of hours and never in office hours, on a search we also ran at least twice in office hours. The stores' pages mark the same advertisers.

An ad schedule can keep ads to evenings and weekends, when fewer people are looking. Out of hours explains what the pattern can and can't tell you.

Google's Ads Transparency Center lists the advertisers that showed ads with a web address. When someone other than the store has search ads showing the store's address, a person searching can take the ad for the store's own.

Ads Transparency Center shows how to look one up yourself, and Looks like yours goes through what those ads look like.

We ask 15 coupon extensions and code sites which codes they list for each store, and count where each store's codes turn up. We never show a code here, only counts.

A code listed on many providers has usually travelled beyond the people it was given to. Find where your codes are listed, and what a coupon extension is.

How we count

Definitions, version 2.
  • The searches. Google UK from UK addresses, on our schedule (from every hour to once a day, by store) and whenever someone checks a store. A workspace's own keywords never count here.
  • The week. Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59 London time. On Monday at 03:00 we work out the week just ended and keep it as it was, so a past week's page never changes.
  • The names. We name stores, never advertisers. Every store named links to its page, where you can see the searches behind its count.
  • Reading it. An ad on a store's name is something to look into, not a finding. Aware, not accusing and reading the live check say how we read them.
